They\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re their owners eyes and ears, their emotional support, they can act as medical alert to those in need, and they can even carry out heroic deeds for the wider community as service animals, from mountain rescue to helping to detect explosives.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This week is International Assistance Dog Week (IADW) \u00e2\u20ac\u201c a time created to \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcrecognize all the devoted, hardworking assistance dogs helping individuals mitigate their disability related limitations\u00e2\u20ac\u2122.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Dogs truly are wonderful creatures. But they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re not the only ones.
