Few things can win our hearts like our four-legged doggie friends and in honour of this bond between man (and woman!) and canine, Dog Day is celebrated!

Every day we appreciate the love and value that dogs bring to our lives, but National Dog Day is an extra special day to take time to do your bit for homeless and abused dogs all over the world. From keeping people safe working for the emergency services to supporting people who are blind, deaf or disabled, dogs do so much for us humans, and this is an opportunity to give something back.

Here at HomeoPet we give regularly throughout the year to many worthy causes – there really are too many to mention! But some definitely stand out and we’d love it if you would also consider giving them your support:

We’ve provided donations to Troop 119 in Dallas over the years and are delighted to help this fantastic organization to help people build better bonds with their dogs.

Green Acres Boxer Rescue takes in Boxers in need and finds them new homes. Covering the state of Wisconsin and the UP of Michigan Green Acres places about 70 dogs annually and to date has helped over 900 Boxers!

Help Search and Rescue Dog Team are a professional volunteer group that specializes is canine wilderness and water searches. Their canines are trained to search for human scent in the wilderness and are also trained in cadaver scenting on both land and in the water.

Lazy Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill dog rescue organization specializing in the Low Rider Breeds: Bassets, Corgis, and Dachshunds.
