And here at HomeoPet we do what we can to help support those that support others.<\/p>\n<p>At HomeoPet we donate to and support many worthy causes each and every year. The work these charitable organisations do is incredible, and we want to share with you a little bit about what they do and why we get involved\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Basset Hound Club of America<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>If you have ever had the pleasure of cuddling a Basset Hound, you will understand why so many people become dedicated fanciers of the breed. Originally bred for hunting small game such as rabbits, the Basset dog breed is still used for this purpose in some parts. Whether you fall for their short, crooked legs, their long hanging ears, their sad expressive eyes or their gorgeous wrinkled foreheads, the friendliness and easy-going nature of the Basset Hound makes them a firm family favourite.<\/p>\n<p>The Basset Hound Club of America (BHCA) was founded in the mid-1930s and is built on a mission to promote the health and welfare of the Basset Hound as well as encourage the sport of hunting via field trials with a Basset. While the BHCA does not directly engage in Basset rescue activities, the club is strongly supportive of rescue and\u00c2\u00a0promotes those groups that responsibly seek to\u00c2\u00a0find homes for homeless Bassets.<\/p>\n<p>One of the highlights on the BHCA calendar is their annual show, which showcases the Basset in conformation, agility, obedience, rally, hunt tests, tracking and field work.<\/p>\n<p>Similar to many charities, the biggest challenge facing the BHCA is funding and for members it is the rescue effort for Bassets left in shelters or being relinquished by their owners.
